Kangana Ranaut Spotlights Shah Rukh Khan’s Decade in Cinema

Kangana Ranaut Times Now Summit

Kangana Ranaut, a prominent figure in the Indian film industry, has recently been in the spotlight due to a series of box office flops. Despite the lukewarm response to her recent films like Dhaakad, Thalaivii, Tejas, and Chandramukhi 2, the actress remains undeterred.

In a candid conversation at the Times Now Summit 2024, Kangana Ranaut drew parallels between her journey and that of Shah Rukh Khan, another titan of the industry. She highlighted that even the most successful figures in the industry face failures more often than they taste success.

Citing Shah Rukh Khan’s decade-long struggle before the success of Pathaan, and her own journey where films didn’t work for 7-8 years until Queen and later Manikarnika, she emphasized the unpredictable nature of the film industry. With her upcoming film Emergency on the horizon, she expressed hope for its success.

Kangana Ranaut also shared her perspective on the changing landscape of stardom. She opined that she and Shah Rukh Khan represent the “last generation of stars“, as the rise of OTT platforms has shifted the dynamics of fame. Despite this, she affirmed that they remain in demand due to their established reputations. However, Kangana Ranaut expressed her desire to engage more with the real world rather than being solely consumed by the arts.

In a significant turn of events, Kangana Ranaut is set to enter the political arena. She will be contesting the Lok Sabha 2024 election from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, on a BJP ticket. The party announced her candidacy last week, marking her official entry into politics. Kangana, a staunch supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressed her elation and honor at joining the party and representing her birthplace.

In a post on microblogging site X, she wrote, “My beloved Bharat and Bhartiya Janta’s own party, Bharatiya Janta party (BJP) has always had my unconditional support, today the national leadership of BJP has announced me as their Loksabha candidate from my birth place Himachal Pradesh, Mandi (constituency) I abide by the high command’s decision on contesting Loksabha polls. I feel honoured and elated to officially join the party. I look forward to be a worthy karyakarta and a reliable public servant.

Kangana’s journey, marked by resilience in the face of professional setbacks and a willingness to reinvent herself, continues to evolve. As she steps into the political sphere, it remains to be seen what this new chapter holds for her.
