The world has been missing the sight of Priyanka Chopra in ethnic wear at red carpet events. That wait ended in Beverly Hills last night. The occasion was the launch of Indian designer Sabyasachi’s pop-up store at Saks in Beverly Hills.
A luxurious dinner was thrown to celebrate the occasion, graced by the likes of Stephanie Suganami and Rupi Kaur. And of course, when it’s a party in California, Priyanka Chopra had to be there!
The global film star made a stunning appearance at the sit-down dinner, reminding everyone why she is fondly known as the one and only ‘desi girl’. Priyanka chose a beautiful black saree by Sabyasachi for the event. The saree, while classic in its shade and silhouette, also exuded a modern aura. Made of completely sheer fabric adorned with vertical reams of black sequins, the saree was casually draped over her shoulder.
Adding a bold touch to her look, Priyanka paired her saree with a strapless tube-style blouse, making a strong case for a saree with a risqué flair. She accessorized her look with a gold choker necklace, adding a metallic glint to her ensemble. Her makeup was matte finished with an earthy hued tint of colour over her cheeks and a brown lip. She completed her look with winged eyeliner and wore her brown locks in waves.
Sabyasachi, the man of the hour, also chose the ebony route, possibly adhering to the event’s dress code. He wore a black shirt with tailored trousers and a matching trench coat over it, layered with a scarf around the neck and red-tinted sunglasses.
In conclusion, there’s nobody quite like our desi girl Priyanka Chopra, especially when she looks this good in a saree.
