Bollywood actor Tripti Dimri has made a significant real estate investment by purchasing a bungalow in Mumbai’s upscale Bandra West locality. The property, located off the plush Carter Road, is a ground plus two-storey structure, which Dimri acquired for over Rs 14 crore.
The bungalow, bearing house number 25 on Sherly Rajan Road, boasts a total land area of 2,226 square feet. The house itself, spread across the ground floor and two additional levels, has a total built-up area of 2,194 sq ft.
Built in 1970 and situated close to the sea face, it remains unclear whether Dimri intends to embark on a redevelopment project for the property or if the plan involves renovating the existing structure for personal residence.
The actor paid Rs 70 lakh for the registration of the transaction, which took place on Monday. The original owner of the land parcel had acquired the plot through an auction sale in 1931.
In Maharashtra, female homebuyers are eligible for a 1% discount on stamp duty for residential properties, reducing the usual 6% to 5%. This concession, introduced in the 2021-2022 budget, is extended to properties purchased independently or jointly with another woman. However, this concession is not applicable to commercial and industrial properties.
Dimri currently also resides at one of the apartment complexes on Sherly Rajan Road off Carter Road. Her team declined to comment on the story.
Real estate continues to be a top choice for investments among high-net-worth individuals. Bollywood figures are actively acquiring properties, not just for personal use, but also as lucrative investment ventures. Several Bollywood actors, producers, and directors, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai, have invested in properties.
Most recently, Bollywood actor, producer, and entrepreneur John Abraham purchased a bungalow built over nearly one-fifth of an acre land parcel on tony Linking Road in Mumbai’s Khar locality for over Rs 70.83 crore.
High-end luxury properties acquired by Ranveer Singh, Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukherjee, Alia Bhat, Disha Patani, and Janhvi Kapoor have also been reported in the last few quarters, highlighting the ongoing trend of real estate investment in Bollywood.
